Our company name translates to good in Japanese...
but don’t think for a second we’re angelic goody-goodies! Because these days, committing to goodness is an act of rebellion. Choosing kindness and optimism is a bold move when it feels like cynicism and judgment hog the air waves.
So at Yoi, we operate from a place of radical goodness. It’s in the simple, organic ingredients we demand. And our small-batch production methods at our very own facility in Northern California.
It’s in how we treat each other within the company, and with our suppliers and partners: with ardent kindness. And of course, the uncompromised quality and taste of the products we sell.
Everything we make is created with Japanese-inspired slow cultured fermentation techniques, and without added sugar. So you get all the inner benefits of probiotics - from gut health to immunity - along with a lip-smacking tang that revs you up to go out there and fight the good fight.
Our Founder Story
Our friendship goes way back to our days working together for a yogurt company, where we got curious about all things culture: from creating cultured foods to building a company culture.
Years later, upon discovering that both of our families were transitioning to a more plant-based diet, we knew it was time to apply what we’d learned in our dairy days to introduce more people to the plant-based way of life. And after lots of tinkering and taste-testing, Yoi was born.
We’re excited to be on this journey of entrepreneurship together, and for all the things we’ve been learning along the way (and still have yet to learn!).
Take it from us: good things happen when you listen to your gut.
